Yotcom.com is administered and moderated by a group of like-minded professional marine crew members from all specialisations within the marine industry with diverse nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. The majority of us have served in the commercial and/or military sectors, prior to working on yachts of all shapes and sizes in all corners of the globe.

We are entirely independent; we have no affiliations to glossy trade magazines or big companies and so rely on you, our members, to dictate its content. We are committed to keep the site honest, real and relevant to items which have either a professional or personal impact on your life within the community, whether it be work or leisure.

"Word of Mouth" recommendation and advice within the marine community is a powerful tool and source of information. It has always been the lifeblood of the industry, usually found by mixing with contemporaries in bars and the obligatory "dirty beers" at the end of the jetty as the sun goes down. There are more jobs found via word of mouth than any other medium.

Our mission is to build on the "word of mouth" theme and actively promote open and frank discussion between crew members from yachts, commercial vessels and military and also from the companies which globally service these industries. Everyone has a story to tell, and this is the place to tell it.

Access to membership is completely free of all charges in order to encourage its use by as wide a global audience as possible. We have made the site low resolution so that precious bandwidth isn't eaten away by video, photos, banner ads etc. thus allowing pages load in less time than it takes to boil a kettle.

This site belongs to you. We are committed to giving you the site that you want to see and the information that you need. All suggestions which are put forward will be considered and, where possible acted upon after discussion with you and other members.

Say what you think, all users are anonymous, if ideas or thoughts come to light that we think deserve to be taken further, we will actively do so on your behalf to the relevant persons or bodies and give feedback to both the individual and other members. We will never share any users information with any third party.
